Woman Identified in Carson Murder
A Wilmington Gang member followed his wife to her place of work in Carson earlier this week where he shot her to death in her parked car. The suspect was identified as Carlos Reyes and he fled the scene after the shooting before police arrived at the scene. Witnesses described the suspect and his vehicle to police. Carson Police identified the man as the deceased woman’s husband and put out a warrant for his arrest. The suspect has prior felonies and was already wanted by Wilmington police. Carson police worked with the Wilmington Police department to locate him and arrest him. He abandoned his car shortly after the shooting and hid with fellow gang members in the city of Wilmington. Thanks to the efforts of the police departments involved as well as his family members, police were able to find the suspect and arrest him without incident. It is unclear what led to the shooting, but family members explained that the two were separated and that she did not want to have anything to do with him. Reyes will await trial and has not posted bail at this time according to authorities.
